Day 1

Arrival at Earnewâld with in the evening a three course meals. If you arrive in time in Earnewâld you can pay a visit to National Park De Alde Feanen.

Day 2

Discover Leeuwarden. Different museums remind you of the presence and influence of the Oranje Nassaus.

Museum Leeuwarden
Visit the Frisian Museum and the ceramics museum Princessehof in Leeuwarden.
These museums are two of the most impressive provincial museums of our country.  
The collection of the cultural history of Friesland is very large when it comes to art, both classic and modern and the treasures of the province. You will find a lot of information in the museums about the Oranje Nassaus.

Princessehof Leeuwarden
A walk to the Governor’s court, the former palace garden Prinsentuin and the Princessehof. The former palace Princessehof which had been inhabited from 1731 to 1765 by princess Maria Louise (widow of the 6th governor of Nassau), houses the only in ceramics specialized museum of the Netherlands.        

National Park De Alde Feanen
A drive from Leeuwarden to Earnewâld for a visit and maybe a cruise through the nature area Pricenhof – National Park De Alde Feanen, which was once the hunting domain of the Frisian Nassaus. There are beautiful summer houses in the wetland area. These however were not in the possession of the Nassaus, but you are able to admire them when taking a cruise with Rondvaardij Princenhof.

Day 3

Visit Heerenveen, Parkland Oranjewoud, former country seat of the Frisian Nassaus.

Parkland Oranjewoud
Visit the village Oranjewoud near Heerenveen, which was the former country seat of the Frisian Nassaus with incredible houses and beautiful gardens. The Frisian Nassaus bought moorland east of Heerenveen en founded there the pleasure palace with park Oranjestein. This is when the development of Oranjewoud started as a location of the Frisian nobility. The original country seat of the Nassaus was demolished in 1803. The neo-classic land house Oranjewoud with its beautiful gardens had been established on the same place in 1830. You are able to visit the estate Oranjewoud and De Overtuin. Also nice to visit are the famous museum Willen van Haren and the Museum Belvédère in Heerenveen.

Paleis Het Loo Apeldoorn
Visit the National Mseum Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn, the Versailles of the Dutch. The hunting lodge located on the outstretched hunting domain of the Oranjes on the Veluwe had been established on behalf of governor Willem the 3rd, son in law of the English king and was finished in 1686. The hunting lodge became even more extensive after Willem the 3rd became king of England. Queen Wilhelmina (1880-1962), grandmother of Queen Beatrix lived for quite some time in Het Loo. A part of the palace has been opened for public since 1972. The palace and its gardens have been restored since 1984 and are open for the public the whole year through.

Accommodations
You will be staying in Hotel Princenhof in Earnewâld, near the National Park De Alde Feanen and in Hajé Hotel Heerenveen, near parkland Oranjewoud.
Both rooms are in good conditions and foreseen of sanitary facilities.
