Outstanding
Friesland Holland Travel Service BV exclusively provides holiday options that have been developed and tested by the organization itself. On offer are unique, mainly all-in package deals combined with comprehensive and pretty much essential support services seven days a week. This approach minimizes the risk of unpleasant surprises during your stay. An example is speedy help for cyclists and skippers with bike or boat troubles. Another defining characteristic of our organization is the extensive background information we offer: detailed descriptions of the holiday itself and available facilities, personalized advice and an information package delivered to your home after booking.
Opening hours, support services:
Contact with the holiday booking office and/or the emergency service Friesland Holland Assistance is available by phone seven days a week between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.: +32(0)561-615364.

Friesland Holland: in business since 1996
Albert Hendriks Journalistiek: since 1976
Friesland Holland Tourist Information and Friesland Holland Travel Service in Wolvega jointly form the number-one bureau for tourism in Friesland, Friesland Holland in short. The business was set up in 1996 by Albert Hendriks, a journalist specialized in economics, cultural history and tourism. Born in Koekange, Drenthe on November 21, 1953, Hendriks grew up on a farm in Rutten, in the new, multicultural Northeast Polder, near Lemmer in Friesland. He attended teacher training college in Leeuwarden, where he studied German and geography. During his studies in the Frisian capital he was also active as a reporter and interviewer of both Dutch and foreign celebrities, mostly politicians and entertainers. Since 1976 he has been working as a freelance journalist, publicist, copywriter and publisher and, since 1996, as the managing director of Friesland Holland.
Friesland Holland: Holland's specialist in boating and cycling holidays
In only a few years' time the business, deliberately kept small-scale by Hendriks (8 employees), became by far the leading specialist in cycling and boating holidays in the Netherlands by stimulating direct booking (bypassing travel agencies and middlemen) and by developing its own multiactive travel options that can only be booked with Friesland Holland Travel Service.
Holland Group Travel
Friesland Holland Travel Service does not offer tour arrangements via other tour operators and travel agencies and is therefore not affiliated with their organized interest groups. However, the new subsidiary company Holland Group Travel does have liaisons with travel organizers, bus operators and other associations but only for purposes of gleaning information and combining tour components so as to realize the shortest retail lines, once again bypassing cost-raising middlemen.
Friesland Holland: News Based Marketing
The marketing strategy is exceptional for a bureau of tourism: based as it is on current affairs, innovation of products and services and trends in international tourism.
Friesland Holland: all-in full-service
On behalf of more than a thousand business relations (enterprises based on tourism, producers of regional specialities and recreational products such as bicycles or boats), Friesland Holland guides vacationers, tour operators, bus operators, business travellers, companies and visitors of special events to all of the companies in the leisure and catering industry, accommodations, tourist attractions, activities and events on the Frisian mainland and the Wadden Islands.
The organization consists of four divisions:
1. Friesland Holland Tourist Information
Provides information for tourists through websites, travel magazines, tourist maps, advertisements, social media and participation in exhibitions and events. Friesland Holland Tourist Information is the publisher of some twenty titles, a hundred thematic websites, some 4.000 domain and trade names and the administrator of one hundred or so holiday and product formulas, each with its own unique logo (like that of Lidl or Unilever, a whole range of aromas, colours, tastes and atmospheres). The magazines, guides and tourist maps are distributed via shows, events, exhibitions and hundreds of distribution points throughout the province: over 1.000 catering and leisure businesses and shops, (all clients of ours), 100 extensive info-points, to be found in roadside restaurants and hotels, among other places.
